The delivery app completes the zCart platform. Couriers pick up assigned orders, follow an optimised route, capture proof of delivery and update order status in real time so both the customer and the vendor see the same picture.

Courier apps run in the worst conditions any mobile software faces. The device is in a vehicle or a stairwell, the signal drops between one street and the next, and the driver is working with one hand — so anything requiring careful input at the door is a design failure.

Proof of delivery is the part that has to be reliable regardless. A signature or photo captured with no connectivity must survive until it can be uploaded, which makes it a queue-and-retry problem rather than a request. Location tracking has its own cost, since continuous GPS is the largest battery consumer on a phone that has to last a full shift.
