VenuFinder is a venue discovery and booking app covering everything from small meeting rooms to wedding and conference spaces. Users filter by capacity, location and amenities, compare options and book directly in the app. I built it end to end as a contract engagement — search and filtering, media-heavy listing pages, availability, and the booking and enquiry flow.

Venue booking is a search problem constrained by availability, and availability is what makes it awkward. A space is not simply free or taken — it has setup and breakdown time either side, minimum hire periods, and different rates by day and season, so a naive calendar lookup returns slots that cannot actually be booked.

Search has to combine filters that behave differently: capacity is a number, location is a radius, date is a range, and type is a category. Ranking across those is not a single sort, which is why venue search results are usually grouped rather than strictly ordered.
