Shpper is a cross-border personal-shopping marketplace that connects buyers with verified travellers. Buyers request hard-to-find products from anywhere in the world; travellers carry them on trips they were already taking and deliver locally, turning unused luggage space into a delivery network. As CTO I own the platform end to end — the Flutter apps for both sides of the marketplace, the backend, payments and escrow, identity verification, and the release pipeline.

A cross-border marketplace built on travellers' luggage has to solve trust between two strangers before anything else. A buyer sends money for an item that does not exist yet, to be bought by someone they have never met and carried across a border — neither side would do that without something standing between them.

Escrow is that something, which makes it the trust mechanism rather than a payments feature: funds are held from agreement until delivery is confirmed. Identity verification is what makes the escrow meaningful, since held money only protects you if there is a real, identified person on the other end when something goes wrong.
