Sashly

On-demand laundry and dry cleaning, collected from your door. Built and shipped by devShakib.

Sashly is an on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning service for the Saudi market. You set your washing preferences, book a pickup slot, and a courier collects your items in dedicated bags and returns them cleaned and pressed. I built it end to end as a freelance project: two Flutter apps — the customer app with full Arabic RTL support, and a driver app the couriers run the collections from — plus the Firebase backend behind both, its Cloud Functions and security rules, and the migration of the business onto it.

An on-demand service app is a logistics product wearing a consumer interface. Collection and delivery are two appointments separated by an unpredictable processing time, so the state machine has more stages than an e-commerce order and every one of them is something a customer may ask about.

Arabic RTL is a structural requirement rather than a translation. The layout mirrors, so navigation, back arrows and progress indicators all change side and direction — and mixed content is the persistent difficulty, since a Latin phone number or a Western date inside an Arabic sentence follows bidirectional rules that produce visually wrong results if the text is treated as one direction.

The driver app is where the promises made in the customer app get kept. A courier works a queue of jobs across pickup, sorting and delivery, and each stage has to be closable one-handed at somebody's door — proof of pickup as an optional photo, item counting against a catalogue, and turn-by-turn navigation to the next address. It is also the app that decides what the customer sees: every status on the tracking screen is a driver action somewhere else.
