QRMate is an all-in-one QR scanner and generator. It reads codes from the camera or an existing image, recognises the payload type and offers the right action, and generates codes for links, contacts, Wi-Fi and plain text with a saved history on device.

QR codes carry four levels of error correction, and the highest can restore a code with roughly thirty percent of it damaged — which is why a logo in the middle works. That redundancy is spent deliberately rather than being a flaw in the format.

Scanning fails on two things more than anything else: contrast, and the quiet zone. The specification requires a clear margin of four modules around the code, and designs cropping tight to the edge fail on exactly the devices nobody tested. The other half is that a QR code is a URL nobody can read before opening it, which is why showing the destination before navigating matters.
