The TMDB API has requirements that shape any client built on it. Images are not served at absolute URLs — you fetch a configuration document giving a base URL and the available sizes, then build paths from it, so a client that hardcodes them breaks whenever the CDN layout changes. Attribution is a condition of use.

Beyond that it is a caching problem. Trending lists change daily while a film's cast does not change at all, so a single cache duration is wrong for both; the useful design separates volatile lists from stable detail records and expires them on different schedules.
