AlphaAthena

Create flashcards, drill them, remember more. Built and shipped by devShakib.

AlphaAthena is a spaced-repetition learning app built on a create-learn-repeat loop. Learners build their own decks, drill them in review sessions scheduled by how well each card is known, and track retention over time.

Spaced repetition works because forgetting follows a curve. Ebbinghaus mapped it in the 1880s, and the practical consequence is that a review just before you would have forgotten is far more efficient than review on a fixed schedule — the same retention for a fraction of the work.

That makes the scheduler the product rather than the cards. Each card carries its own interval, growing when recalled and collapsing when not, which means the state that matters is per-card and grows without bound. Offline-first matters more here than in most apps, because a review session skipped for lack of signal is a review that happens on the wrong day.
