Indent or minify XML documents. Free, runs entirely in your browser — no signup, and nothing you paste in is uploaded.
Indenting XML is mostly about finding where the tree actually closes, which is the thing a flat document hides. The subtlety is that whitespace between elements can be significant — in mixed content, where text and elements share a parent, reformatting is not guaranteed to preserve meaning, even though it is safe for the configuration and data documents most people are handling.
Minifying is what you want before embedding a document somewhere that charges you by the byte, or comparing two files where one was pretty-printed and the other was not and every line therefore differs.
