Random Number

Generate random numbers in a range, optionally unique. Free, runs entirely in your browser — no signup, and nothing you paste in is uploaded.

The distinction that matters is with or without replacement. Independent draws can repeat — three rolls of a die can all be sixes, and a generator that avoided that would not be random. Unique draws are a different operation, a shuffle of a range truncated to the count you asked for, and that is what you want for picking winners or sampling rows.

Ranges are also where off-by-one errors live, since some conventions include the upper bound and others stop below it. Worth checking which one you are getting before using the result for anything that has to be fair.
