Encode an image as a Base64 data URI for inline HTML/CSS. Free, runs entirely in your browser — no signup, and nothing you paste in is uploaded.
A data URI embeds the bytes in the markup, so the file loads with the document instead of costing a separate request. Base64 inflates the payload by about a third, which is the trade: fewer round trips against more bytes, and it only pays off for genuinely small assets.
The invisible cost is caching. An embedded image cannot be cached independently — it is re-downloaded with every copy of the HTML or CSS that carries it, and it cannot be shared between pages. Small icons and a single hero placeholder are reasonable; anything above a few kilobytes usually is not.
