Baccarat has essentially no decisions. The drawing rules for both hands are fixed by the table, so despite its association with high stakes and James Bond, the player's only choice is which side to bet on before anything is dealt.

The house edge is about 1.06 percent on banker and 1.24 percent on player — the banker's slight advantage comes from acting last under those fixed rules, which is why a commission is charged on banker wins to claw it back. The tie bet is the one to avoid: it typically carries an edge above 14 percent, several times worse than either main bet.
