Split any roster into random teams, groups or pairs — plus a single-elimination bracket. Fair, fast and fully on-device.
Random team assignment is fairer than captains picking, and not only in outcome — pick order is publicly visible and being chosen last is a genuinely unpleasant experience that the random version removes entirely.
The implementation detail that matters is using a proper shuffle. The naive approach of swapping each element with a random other does not produce a uniform distribution; Fisher-Yates does, and the difference is real bias rather than a technicality. Single-elimination brackets have their own known property: they identify a winner reliably and rank everyone below first place poorly, since half the field is eliminated by one result.
