Pull a perfect color palette from any photo and name every shade — free, on-device.
Pulling colours from a photo is quantisation — reducing millions of distinct pixel values to a handful of representatives, usually by clustering. The result is dominant by area, which is not the same as important: a large flat background dominates the count even when the subject is what makes the image.
Naming shades is a harder problem than it appears, because colour names are not evenly distributed. Languages carve the spectrum differently and the boundaries are fuzzy even within one, so any naming is a nearest-match against a chosen reference list rather than a fact about the colour.
