A serious, private strength-training log — sessions, sets, PRs and progress, all on-device.
Progressive overload is the whole of strength training: the stimulus has to increase or adaptation stops. That is why a log is not optional record-keeping but the mechanism — you cannot add weight to last week's sets without knowing what last week's sets were.
What to record is more contested than people expect. Total volume, sets times reps times load, is the usual proxy and it is imperfect, because it treats a heavy triple and a light set of fifteen as equivalent when they train different things. Tracking a personal record per lift alongside volume gives you both the peak and the accumulation.
