Focusprint

Turn any big scary task into a stack of tiny wins — sprint through one micro-step at a time.

Task paralysis is usually a sizing problem. A large undefined task offers no obvious first action, so the mind treats the whole thing as the unit and avoids it — while a step small enough to be trivially startable does not trigger the same response.

The technique is to shrink the step until it is almost embarrassing, then do that one. Momentum does most of the rest, since starting is the expensive part and continuing is comparatively cheap. Working through a stack one at a time also removes the second cost, which is re-deciding what to do after every completed piece.
