EasyRead

Reflow any text into calm, adjustable, bionic-highlighted reading — on-device, nothing sent anywhere.

Reflowing text is an accessibility feature before it is an aesthetic one. Line length has a measurable effect on reading speed — somewhere around 50 to 75 characters is the usual recommendation, and a full-width paragraph on a wide screen forces the eye to hunt for the start of each new line.

Bionic-style highlighting bolds the opening letters of each word on the theory that the reader's eye fixates there and the brain completes the rest. Evidence for a speed gain is thin and contested; what does have support is that adjustability helps, because the comfortable size, spacing and contrast differ enormously between readers.
