Decidely

A decision-maker toolbox — dice, coin flips, random pick and a spin wheel, all on-device.

Randomisers get used for two different jobs and it is worth knowing which one you are doing. The first is genuine fairness — splitting something where any bias would be unfair. The second is breaking a deadlock, and there the random result is not really the mechanism.

For deadlocks the useful trick is older than any app: flip a coin and notice how you feel about the result. Disappointment at the answer tells you which option you actually wanted, which is information you could not reach by deliberating. The randomiser is a way of interrogating a preference rather than a way of deciding.
