See your exact debt-free date — snowball or avalanche, all on-device. Free to use, with no account required.
Two orderings dominate debt repayment, and they optimise for different things. Avalanche targets the highest interest rate first and is mathematically optimal — it always costs less in total. Snowball targets the smallest balance first, which costs more but closes accounts sooner.
The research is genuinely mixed on which wins in practice, because the one that gets finished beats the one that is optimal on paper. Seeing both projected as an actual calendar date rather than a percentage is what makes the tradeoff concrete: the difference between the two plans is usually months and a specific sum, and those are the numbers worth deciding on.
