A wall of beautiful countdowns to the moments that matter — birthdays, trips, launches.
Anticipation is a documented component of how people enjoy events — in the research on holidays, the looking-forward period reliably delivers more happiness than the trip itself, and often more than the memory afterwards.
A countdown is a way of deliberately extending that period rather than letting it arrive by surprise. Which is also why several at once works better than one: a single distant date is mostly waiting, while a wall of them means something is always close. The design constraint is that it has to be pleasant to look at, since a countdown you avoid opening is doing the opposite of its job.
